About Me

  Hi, my name is Kasyn Givens a graduate from the University of Central Florida. I graduated in May 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in theater.          

   Growing up African American and constantly seeing my community be forgotten in the media is what inspired me to join the journalism program. In the aftermath of the death of George Floyd the media attention was centered on the struggles of the Black community. Using what I've learned as a multimedia journalist, I hope to highlight untold stories in the Black and LGBTQ+ communities.
